Object Lessons began as a series of drawings altered from 1960’s era grade school primers, and reproductions of old postcards illustrating the production of basic food-stuffs. I find much humor in the original illustrations, their intended lessons and inferred sub-text. They reflect my obsession with objects, materials and their multiple meanings with retro/simplicity aesthetic and outdated content.
Some of the drawings have been reproduced in a publication of poetry by Pasquale Verdicchio titled, Object Lessons.
