Stone Paper Scissors

Hook, Line & Sinker

Picture
This series began with a map belonging to my father from the ship he had been on in WW2 and a set of antique children’s blocks given to me by my mother. The map was hand-drawn, tracing routes to and from Japan from other islands in the Pacific. The blocks had different images on each side that when put together like a puzzle, created new images.

In this series I like playing with the altering, mixing, manipulating and matching stories, objects and images. The pieces are mixed media (wax, shell, bone, seeds, paper, paint) on wood that is pierced, burned or hinged.
