San Diego Unified School District
City Heights Educational Collaborative
The 1st phase of this project was to redesign the interior of the administration offices. Art students from advanced placement classes researched the history of the school, interviewed staff, students and parents to help create design solutions to what had been a very uninviting space. The floor to ceiling carpet was replaced with bright color, patterns that reflect the cultures of the student body, references to important events in the history of the school and a 10’ x 25’ photo mural of the school as it looked in 1931.
